How To: Create a Resource Planning
Job Task Planning Information fact box
The Job Task Planning information fact box will show the available working time for the duration of the Job Task combined with the budgeted and planned capacity.
The working hours are based on the settings in Job Calendar Time Detail
The basic flow for planning resources consists of the following actions.
Allocate a resource, or a resource group to a Job Task
- Copy a resource or resource group from the budget line to a resource planning line.
- When required expand the resource group in the planning lines, select and add resources.
- Release the planning line.
The resource planning is now allocated, when the resource task is created either through the Lifecycle or through the batch function an assignment to the resource task will be created.
Plan a resource to a Job Task (Only Resources can be planned, not Resource Groups).
- First allocate (release) the resource to a Job Task, or expand the resource group.
- Click Resource Planning in the ribbon to open the Resource Planning page.
- The released planning line will show in the upper part, the lower part of the page will show the capacity for the resources
- To Plan the resource type the number of hours in the date columns, or check the "Show Column Name" to show the days.
A number of additional features are available:
- Assign Resources from Budget Lines in Job Quotes
- Set work type verification per Resource Group
- Invoice resource ledger entries posted by subcontractors
- Time entry for team leads
- Copy time sheet
- Approver Groups
Notes:
- The dates, or days, shown are within the Job Task Starting and - Ending dates, the program does not allow to plan outside this date range, you first have to update these dates.
- The "Total Planned Qty." field shows the total quantity planned on the individual days.
- When the "Total Planned Qty." < "Quantity" the Planning Status will be "Partially Planned", when "Total Planned Qty." = "Quantity" the Planning Status will be "Balanced".
- You are not allowed to plan more than the Quantity.
- The quantities in the capacity section of the page will be updated when planned quantity field is updated.
