IEM - Resource Management

Resource Tasks

A Resource Task is used as a common entity between different activities. Tasks can originate from Production, Service, Assembly or Jobs. You can also define so-called User Defined tasks. These kinds of tasks are not linked to a source document. Resource tasks can be used to plan the activities of resources by assigning a resource to a Task. The assigned resource task is then the basis for the planning. Without assignments Resource Tasks can also be used as a To-do list for a resource or a department based on the task type. In this scenario a resource can select a task from a list and start / stop the task.

Notes

  1. Resource Contract Time is important when in Time Registration compensation is used. From the Contract Time calculation Capacity can be calculated in the same run.
  2. Work Type is mandatory on a Resource Card. Additional work types can be set through the Work Type action. These work types control posting in the Timecard.
  3. You can create repeating tasks with the help of a Recurrence Pattern. Such a pattern can be suspended via the Suspension option (for example for a holiday period).
  4. Assigned tasks are listed per resource, from the resource card select Related Information > Resource > Tasks > My Assignments.
  5. The Clean-up Tasks periodic activity will set the status of a Resource Task to ?Terminated? when the source document no longer exists. Resource Tasks are not removed because that will also remove the link with the posted entry.
  6. In Resource Management is a Global Stop Time combined with a batch function. This function will end tasks which were not stopped for example at the end of a work day. Note that the Global Stop function has to run on a specified date which is the stop date for the found tasks. If a task needs to run over several days it can be exempt from the global stop function through a setting on the Resource Task card.
  7. When a task runs over several days the program will create a stop entry at 23:59:59 on the start date and a new start entry on the next day. This will continue until the stop date is reached.
  8. A resource can be allowed to start/stop tasks for other resources based on the delegation function on the resource card.
