How To : Create Resource Tasks

The Resource Task is the entity that connects resource planning with time registration. The resource task is created as a part of the planning functions in Manufacturing, Jobs, Assembly and Service. You can also create resource tasks manually.
To create resource tasks from planning functions, use the following functions from the relevant module.

  • Manufacturing
When changing the Status of a Production Order to Released, or when using the "Refresh or Replan" function in the released production order, a resource task will be created or updated. The number of tasks created depends on the setting in Resource Task Setup - Production - Resource Task Creation Type which can be set to "for all Operations" or "for Point of Completion".
  • Jobs
A lifecycle action handler on the job task creates a resource task per job task as well as task assignments for the resources linked to the job task.
  • Assembly
A in setting in Resource Task Setup - Assembly - Create Task on Assembly Release controls the creation of Resource Tasks. When true the resource task is created / updated the assembly order is released either manually or through the lifecyle.
  • Service
A setting in the Repair Status Setup determines for each Status Code if a resource task per Service Item Line is created or updated as well as task assignments for resources linked to the job task.

Besides the functions embedded in the processes as mentioned above also batch functions are available to create Resource Tasks.
