Design Detail: Posting Resource Time to a Job Quote
When quoting a Job pre-sales time will be spend on the Job. However since the Job is still in its quotation phase these hours could not be posted and billed. In order to accommodate that IEM makes it possible to post resource hours as Expected Resource Ledger Entries.
A setting on the Job Quote card will determine if for this Job Quote time can be posted. When allowed Resource Tasks can be created and used in Time Sheets from which "Expected" Resource Ledger Entries will be created.
When the Job Quote is Won and Expected Resource Ledger entries exist for the Job the actual entries are created from the Expected resource ledger entries
- Resource Ledger entries of the type Usage are created
- Job Ledger entries are created.
When the Job is Lost no entries are created which means the remaining entries have to be analysed manually:
Expected resource ledger entries without a matching Usage resource ledger entries need to be analysed.
