Completing Timecards

When a Timecard is created the program checks if any assignments for the same period, as the Timecard exist, for the resource. If found the resource tasks are added to the Timecard. You can use the Referesh Tasks action in the Timecard to add additional assigned resource tasks.

You can manually add, resource, tasks to the Timecard by using the drill-down in the Task No. field to open the Task List. The Task List will show all, active, Tasks assigned to the Resource of to his/her Resource Group.
Use the Show All action to show all active Tasks.

Notes:
- You can use the User Defined Fields (UDF) in the Resource Task to customize the fields in the Task list showing, for example, the Job and Job Task number of the Resource Task.
- Processing Timecards is best handled with a Lifecycle

The Timecard has the following fields:

Field Description
Task No. Select a task number from the Task List
Assignment Line No. Select the correct assigment. A task can have multiple assignments, for example an assignment for travel time and an assignment for work time.
Completed Place a check mark in this field to indicate that the Task is completed even when not all assigned hours have been used.
Type Shows the type of the Task: User Defined; Job; Production; Assembly; Service
Description As copied from the Task but you can update.
Work Type The work type as copied from the Task or Assignment. You can select another wotk type unless a work type list has been set on the Task.
Unit of Measure The unsit of measure as copied from the Task.
Global Dimensions For example Department - Project code
Day columns 1..7 A column for each day in the Timecard period, the column shows the date as label. With the "Show column Name" option in the Timecard header you can toggle between the date and the day.

You can type a number of hours in the day field or use the assist edit to open the Timecard detail lines showing the folowing fields:

Field Description
Posting Date The date that the entry was made
Start Time To register time you can fill in the time the activity started.
End Time In combination with the start time fill in an end time of the activity to calculate a duration.
Duration The duration is either calculated as the difference between start - and end time or you type a quantity (of hours) in this field.
Status Is either Open or Registered. Registered means that a time line has been created to be, optionally, approved or posted.

Notes:

- Use the Comment action in the ribbon to describe the activity if required.
- Corrections on the Timecard entries are recorded as separate entries, the balance is visible on the Timecard line
