IEM - Resource Management

Timecard approvals

When a timecard is registered timelines are created for all lines that have not been registered before. When clicking on the assist-edit in a column the detail timecard lines are opened and will show the status of the detail line: Open or Registered.
When an Approval Priority has been set in the Timecard Template an Approval Request Entry will be created. Approval request entries can be maintained by the Approval Adminstrator as set in Resource Management Setup. Approval request entries will appear in the Timecard Approval Worksheet of the assigned approver (see below).

Timecard approval worksheet

The lines of a registered timecard appear in the Approval Worksheet if Approval Priority is set on the Timecard Template. The approval worksheet will list the approval requests for the user ID (as linked to the resource in the Users setup) Note: You must specify at least a start date for the Timecard Template to make sure it is selected.

In the approval worksheet you have three options:

  1. Approve Select one or more lines and select the option Approve. Approved timelines will appear in the Timecard Posting Worksheet from where they can be posted.
  2. Reject Enter a Reason Code for all the lines you would like to reject. This is required to inform the resource why a line is rejected. Select the lines and press the option Reject. (when the Request Rejection Comment is set also the comment must be completed). Rejected timelines will be "rolled back" to timecard lines and the timecard will be set to the status Rejected See Timecard Lifecycle.
  3. Delegate will re-assign the approval request to the substitute of the resource. The substitute is set on the resource card.

Approvals can also be set per Resource Group in the Approval Group Allocation worksheet
