How To : Set up Timecard Template

Use the Timecard Template page to set up templates which are assigned to a resource and applied when the resource creates a timesheet.
Setting up a Timecard Template:

  1. In the Search box, type Timecard Template.
  2. Select Timecard Template to open the list.
  3. Select New to create new templates or Edit to open a template for modifications.
  4. Enter a code and description for the Timecard template.
  5. You typically enter information for the fields described in the following table. These are the fields that need values for you to create deliver templates.
Field Description
General Fields on the General fasttab
Code and Description Identifies the Timecard Template
24 Hours Check Formula Select the Formula to check the time registered for 1 day.
Working Time Formula Select the Formula to check the registered worktime against the contract time for the resource.
Time Rounding Code Select the code to be used for time rounding.
Approval Priority Select the order in which the approver must be selected.
Request Rejection Comment Select this field if you want the approver of the Timecard to specify a comment when rejecting the time line.
Due Date Formula This field contains the date formula used to calculate the due date, when the Timecard must be approved, for each approver.

Timecard Formula 1..10 Specify statistics formulae to calculate totals based on Timecard entries.
Formulas (Posted) Fields on the Formulas (Posted) fasttab
Registered Timecard Formula 1..10 Specify statistics formulae used to calculate totals based on posted Timecard entries.
Compensation Fields on the Compensation fasttab
Period Specify the period for which compensation has to be calculated.
No. of Periods Enter the number of periods such as 5 Days or 2 Weeks.
Calculate Compensation Time Check if the Compensation has to be calculated with the Journal. Compensation time is the difference between the Resource Contract Time and the Registered Time.
Calculate Overtime Check if the Overtime has to be calculated with the Journal. Overtime is the difference between the Resource Contract Time and the Registered Time.
Max. Overtime Specify the maximum amount of overtime, used when calculating Compensation
Overtime Work Type Code Specify the work type code to be used for overtime.
% Time-for-Time Enter a percentage to be applied when calculating time-for-time hours.
