How To: Manufacture an Item Planning line

To Manufacture an Item Planning line follow these steps:

  1. Complete and Release the Item Planning line, make sure Replenishment System is set to "Prod. Order".
    Notes:

    • From the Production BOM action you can create a Job Specific version of BOM and Routing before creating the Production Order.
    • When the Job Planning Line is marked as Job Specific all postings to the Production Order will be copied to Job Ledger Entries.
    • When the Transfer WIP from Production to Job setting is true in IEM Manufacturing Integration Setup you cannot set the Job Planning Line to Job Specific. The postings to the Production Order will be copied to Job Ledger Entries when the Production Order status is changed to Finished
  2. Select the Job Item Planning lines for which you want to create a Production Order. Hold down the Ctrl key to select multiple lines

  3. Click "Create Production Orders" in the ribbon to open the Create Production Orders dialogue

  4. In this dialogue complete the following fields:
    Prod. Order Status

    • Planned: to create a Planned production order;
    • Firm Planned: to create a Firm Planned production order:
    • Released: to create a Released production order.

    Direction

    • Forward: scheduling begins at the starting date and proceeds forward to the finishing date;
    • Backward: scheduling begins from the ending date and proceeds backward to the required starting date.

    Source Type

    • Item: A Production Order is created per Item;
    • Job Task: A Production Order is created for all selected Items in the Job Task
  5. When complete click Yes to confirm the Create Production Order dialogue

  6. The program will show a message: "The lines were successfully transferred to [99] production document(s).
