Product Engineering - User Tasks

How To : User Tasks for Incidents and Measurements

User tasks can be created from Incidents and from Measurements and assigned to Users or User Groups. The User Tasks is either linked to an Incident or to a Measurement.

Setup

To track the % Complete of the User Task a % Complete Milestone option has been added to the Quality Management setups. This list shows the standard Milestones and can be completed with a percentage. When a User Task reaches any of these Milestones the % Complete on the User Task is updated accordingly:

Milestone Description Complete %
Incident Created Incident created 10
Measurement Created Measurement created 20
Checksheet Completed Checksheet completed 50
Checksheet Re-test Checksheet re-test 30
Accepted Measurement Registered Accepted measurement registered 90
Rejected Measurement Registered Rejected measurement Registered 60
Follow-up Completed Follow-up completed 70
Incident Closed Incident closed 100

Notes

  • The percentages in this table are shown as a suggestion only
  • These milestones have been created as Enums and can be extended to be customer specific

Incident User Tasks

Incident User Tasks must be created manually from an Incident with the Create User Task action. Once created the User Task can be opened with the User Task action. Each Incident can have only 1 User Task.

Measurement User Tasks

Measurement User Tasks can be created automatically and assigned to a specific inspector:

  • On the Measurement Template set Automatic Create User Task to On.
  • Also select a, default, Inspector User Name. The Inspector User Name can be made specific in the Target Templates.
  • For each Target Template (per Item, Item Category, etc) select an Inspector User Name to override the default Inspector User Name on the Measurement Template.

When a Measurement is created from a Measurement Template with these settings also the User Task is created. The User Task is linked to the Measurement with the % Complete set to what has been specified for the Milestone "Measurement Created". The % Complete will be updated automatically with the % from the Milestones.
When the Measurement is accepted and registered the Incident is closed which means also the User Task % Complete is set to 100%. The Measurement continues as a Registered Measurement which means that the Task Item specified on the User Task no longer exists.
