Planned Job Card

The Planned Job card allows you to create a Job in a number of ways:

  • The Create Job wizard with which you copy from a previous Job or select a template to create the Job from
  • The New Job action to create a Job from scratch and use the Estimate function

The following steps will walk you through the creation of an Estimate:

  1. On the Planned Job Card tab to the Description field and type a short description of the Deliverable for the Job (The Job No. will be assigned automatically).
  2. At this point also the Job Deliverable can be created through the Deliverables action on the Navigate tab
  3. There are 2 option now to identify the prospect:
    • As an existing customer: select a Customer No. in the Bill-to Customer No. field.
    • As a contact: select a Contact No. in the Bill-to Contact No. field as well as a Customer Template Code. This customer template will be used to create a customer no. when the Job Quote is promoted to the Order state.
  4. The Name and Address fields will be completed automatically.
  5. Since we are creating an Estimate based on Elements and Activities skip the Base Template Code.
  6. Complete the other fields as required.
