Transport and Deliveries - Setting up Transport Cost Component Templates

The definition of which components are part of a calculation and the percentage to use are defined in the Transport Cost Component Template. The component templates are added to the transport order costs as individual costs. The cost component templates are typically used in a situation where an additional charge based on a cost component amount has to be calculated as a percentage of that charge. An example of a cost component template is a fuel-charge of x %.

To set up a Transport Order Cost Component Template

  1. Choose the Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature icon (Alt+Q) enter Transport Cost Component Templates and click the relevant link.
  2. Click New to create a new template, or Edit to update an existing template.
  3. Enter the values for the Code and Description fields. Typically, you must provide values for the following fields:
Field Description
G/L Account Specify the G/L account used in the process of creating a purchase invoice line.
Percentage Enter the percentage to be used to calculate the Transport Order Cost Line Amount.
Status Specify the status of the template. Note that only certified component templates can be used.

In the lines-tab you enter the following fields:

Transport Cost Component Choose the transport cost component from the dropdown list that is a part of the current template. Additional charges using this template will be calculated based on the amount of the transport cost component that is entered when entering cost components.
Description The description of the transport cost component is copied here.
