Setting Up a Location for Commodity Receiving

If you want to use commodity manifests to receive commodity items into a particular location, you may set up that location with certain defaults.

When the user opens the Commodity Manifest window to record the receipt of a commodity item, a location filter must be entered. The program uses the location's commodity setup to determine some of the values on the commodity manifest.

Commodity transactions must be processed in a 1 document bin-controlled location. This means that the location must not be set up to use Warehouse Receipts, -Shipments, -Picks or -Put-aways, but it must be set up as Bin Mandatory.

  • In the Search box, enter Locations, and then choose the related link.
  • Select the location where you want to enable commodity receiving. On the Home tab, in the Manage group, choose Edit.
  • On the Commodities FastTab, assign the default bin and item that you want to use for commodity receiving in that location.
