Working with Delivery Trips
A delivery trip is a planning entity within Transport and Deliveries which makes it possible to combine several delivery stops in one trip. Each stop is a customer delivery address for which one or more containers exist. For each delivery stop a transport order is created which means a delivery trip is also defined as a collection of transport orders. Transport orders can be shipped individually or grouped into a delivery trip. This leads to the following hierarchy between the different entities:
- Source Documents are combined, packaged, into containers
- Containers are combined into transport order to be shipped or become part of a delivery trip
- Transport orders can be combined into a Delivery trip
