Processing Containers

In Transport and Deliveries the Container is the carrier of the items being shipped, or received. Once the container has been created and as long as it has the status"Open" items can be added. The program will check if the items added have the same shipping/receiving information:

  • Location Code
  • Address No. - Sell-to Customer or Buy-from Vendor
  • Address Code - Ship-to Address or Order Address Code
  • Pickup/Delivery Address - Customer/Vendor/Location
  • Shipment Method
  • Shipping Agent
  • Shipping Agent Service

When the container worksheet is opened from a (inventory) put-away/pick, the put-away / pick can be linked to existing containers instead of the creation of new containers.

  1. Click Link Container
  2. Select the container from the list shown
  3. Click OK to add the container to the list

Add content to Container

Content can be added with the container wizard.

  1. Click Add Content to Container to open the wizard
  2. Select Item No to show only these items.
  3. or Click Next to open the content list
  4. Select Include check box and specify Qty. to Container.
  5. Click Finish to complete.

After completing the selected content lines are added. The container details tab shows the content of the selected container.

  • The container wizard supports adding of items from a specific lot no. or serial no. Choose columns to show these fields on the list.
  • Only content with the same delivery- and pickup address, as well as the same Shipping Agent (Services) and shipping date can be added together on a single container

Closing Containers

The container has 3 status codes: Open, Closed and Loaded. The status can be changed manually.
When closing a container the total, theoretical, weight and volume of the container is calculated based on the net weight set for the item multiplied by the quantity. The tare weight of the container is added to the total net weight to arrive at the gross weight.
A closed container can be re-opened until the transport order that the container is linked to is released. When a Transport Order is released, the linked Containers are closed automatically.

When the container worksheet is opened from a (inventory) put-away/pick the available containers can be unlinked instead of removing containers. The content will be removed when you un-link a container.
