How To: Index Pricing and Job Pricing for Resources
To process a resource price change follow these steps:
- Type Resource Price Worksheet in the Search box and select Departments/Resource Planning/Periodic Activities/Resource Price Worksheet to open the worksheet.
- Click the Suggest Resource Price on Wksh. action in the ribbon to open and co0mplete the selection page.
- After reviewing and/or updating the worksheet the new prices can be implemented with the Implement Price Change action. The options determine where the prices are updated to.
- Use the Copy to Job Resource Price Master action to create a job specific price list for resources on a Job.
Suggest Resource Price on Worksheet
Field | Description |

Type | Select one of 3 options: Resource = to select from the Resource price table; Resource Group = to select from the Resource Group price table; Job = to select from the Job Resource Price table. |
Code: | Code related to Type. Leave blank when you want to select all records from the selected type. |
Note: When Create New Prices is false this field works as a filter, when true Code will specify the value for the new record and is not allowed to be blank. | |
Job Task No. | Editable when Type = Job and a Job Code is selected. |
Job Resource Type | Editable when Type = Job (also see the Note with the Code field) |
Job Resource Code: | Editable when Type = Job (also see the Note with the Code field) |
Work Type | Select a code to filter or to create new depending on the Create New Prices setting. |
Currency Code | Select a code to filter or to create new depending on the Create New Prices setting. |
Starting Date | The date from which the new price must be effective. With the Fill Ending Date field the current price will be ended the day before the starting date. |
Ending Date | The date until the new price must be effective. |
Only Prices Above | If you only want to update prices above a specified value. If a price is lower than or equal to this amount, a line for it will be created in the Resource Price Worksheet window, but with the same unit price as in the Resource Price - or Job Resource Price table. |
Adjustment Factor | Specify a factor with which the current price must be updated (1,05 = 5%) |
Rounding Method | Enter a code for the rounding method that will be used to determine the new prices. To see the existing rounding method codes, click the field. |
Create New Prices: | Place a check mark in the check box if you want the batch job to create new price suggestions (for example, a new combination of currency, resource and time). Don't insert a check mark if you only want to adjust existing sales prices. |
Fill Ending Date: | Place a check mark in the check box if you want the batch job to make all the previous records ending date to the current records starting date -1 in the implement price change batch job. |
Resource Price | Use this filter to select prices from the Resource and Resource Group pricing table. |
Job Resource Price | Use this filter to select prices from the Job Resource Prices table. |
Implement price change
Creating a new budget in a Job is optional.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Create budget based on active budget | Place a check mark in the check box if you want the batch job to create a new budget as a copy from the active budget. The price update will then be implemented in the new budget. |
Make new budget active | Place a check mark in the check box if you want the batch job to activate the new budget. |
New Budget Description | The new budget will be created with the description as specified in this field. |
Resource Price Worksheet | Use this filter to make the selection on what to update in the Resource Pricing Table. |
Job Budget Line | Use this filter to make the selection on what to update in the Job Budget. Note: When updating the Job Budget Line the Planning Date is considered to be the price date. |
Copy to Job Price Master
This feature allows you to create Job Specific resource prices in the Job Resource Prices table:
- Suggest resource prices from the Resource – Resource Group prices, or from Job Resource Prices
- Review and adjust prices to make them job specific
- Copy the prices to the Job Resource prices for the selected Job.
