How to: Set up the CSV to XML Translator activity
Use a CSV to XML Translator activity when you receive external data in CSV format that must process into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
To set up the CSV to XML Translator activity:
- Create a connection and insert the element CSVTOXMLTRANSLATOR.
- On the elements line, select Edit.
- On the CSV to XML Translator Setup page, fill in the following fields:
| Field | Description |

| Document Type | Select the document type: either Internal or External. |
| Document No. | Based on the document type, select the document. |
| Start Row | Select the starting row in the CSV file from which to start the translation. |
| Delimiter | Select a default delimiter: Semicolon, Comma, or Space. If another delimiter is used, select Other and specify the character. |
| Character | Specify the delimiter character if you selected delimiter type Other. |
- Select Check Configuration to see if there are any configuration errors.
- Select OK.
