How to: Set up a conversion table
Use this task to set up conversion tables. A conversion table holds a one-to-one translation from an internal value to an external value. You can define the translation in a document definition, for example, to map a customer number to an EAN code.
To set up a conversion table:
- Go to the setup area of the solution. Depending on the solution:
- For Connectivity Studio: go to Departments > Business Integration Solutions > Connectivity Studio > Setup.
- For Notification Management: go to Departments > Business Integration Solutions > Notification Management > Setup.
- For Replication Management: go to Departments > Business Integration Solutions > Replication Management > Publications > Setup for publications, or Subscriptions > Setup for subscriptions.
- For EDI Studio: go to Departments > Business Integration Solutions > EDI Studio > Setup.
- Select Conversion Tables.
- Edit the conversion table and fill in the following fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Code | Identification of the conversion table. |
| Description | Short description of the conversion table. |
| Internal Value | Internal value, for example, a customer with value 10000. |
| External Value | External value, for example, a customer with EAN code EAN123456789. |
The conversion table is set up with a one-to-one translation from internal to external value.
