How to: Setup Document Management
To be able to use the Document Management feature you must first perform a setup in Solution Center.
To setup document management:
- Click Departments/Solution Center/Document Management.
- Open the Document Management Setup page.
- Fill in the following fields:
Field Description Storage Type
Select one of the following options: - Network Folder Use this type if you want to archive files in a folder available on the network. Make sure that the user has relevant permissions to the folder. - FTP Use this type if you want to archive files in an FTP location. - SharePoint Use this type if you want to upload files to Microsoft SharePoint. File Location
Based on the Storage Type, if you want to store the file in a network folder, use the drill down to provide the path of the folder location. In case you want to store the file in FTP or upload to Microsoft SharePoint, provide the relevant URL.
Username
You must provide relevant credentials in case of FTP or SharePoint Storage Type.
Password
You must provide relevant credentials in case of FTP or SharePoint Storage Type.
SharePoint Document Library
A SharePoint document library is a place on a site where you can create, collect, and update files with others. Specify this field if you want to upload files to Microsoft SharePoint.
SharePoint Online
Enable the "SharePoint Online" option, if this version of SharePoint is used, otherwise it expects an on premise installation of SharePoint.
The "SharePoint Online" option will allow the installation to communicate between SharePoint and NAV
In the File Location field, enter the URL of the site.
Setup for SharePoint Online:
- Username
enter the User ID which is used to login to the online site. e.g. username@company.com - Password
enter the password which is used to login to the online site - SharePoint Document Library
enter the name of the Document Library which you wanted to use - SharePoint Online
Enable the "SharePoint Online" option
- SharePoint on-premise:
- Username
enter the windows ID which has access to the site - Password
enter your windows password - SharePoint Document Library
enter the name of the Document Library which you wanted to use - SharePoint Online
Disable the "SharePoint Online" option This feature has been included since NAV2017 from the build of NAVW110.0.07_BIS17.01.8921.0.
