How To : Create a Change Order
The change order is created as an estimate. The estimate can be printed or mailed to the customer as an approval request. When approved the Job Task is created, when rejected the change order remains in the reject state. The Change Order is specific to a Job and is therefor created from a Job:
- In the Job list or card locate Change Ordersin the ribbon and click to open the Job Change Orders list.
- In the Job Change Orders list click New to create a new change order or select a line to Edit an existing change order
- Typically, you must fill the followng fields:

Job Change Order Code | Identifies the Change Order, the number is created automatically from the No. Series as set in the Jobs Setup |
Job Task | When filled this Job Task has been created for the Job Change Order |
Description | A short description of the change order |
Comments | Indicates if any additional comments have been added. You'll find the Comments action on the Navigate tab. |
Change Order Code | Select a Reason Code to classify the change order for future analysis and reporting |
Estimated Resource Costs | Type the amount you estimate for Resource related costs |
Estimated Material Costs | Type the amount you estimate for Material related costs |
Estimated Equipment | Type the amount you estimate for Equipment related costs |
Estimated Expenses | Type the amount you estimate for Expenses |
Estimated Total Costs | The total amount will be calculated |
Lifecycle State | Shows the State of the Change Order. Change the status with the action in the header. |
- When the line is complete use the Lifecycle state to progress the state and get the necessary approvals
- Use the Job Change Order List report to print the change order
