How to: set up Incident Classification Codes

The incident Classification Codes contain the information on what the incident is focusing on, called the Incident Type. The codes are chosen from a list of option values: Material, Man or Machine.

For each Classification Code, you can also add an Incident Area. Usually the following combinations of Incident Type and Incident Area is used:

  • Material: Customer, Vendor, Third Party, Production, Warehouse Activity
  • Man: Resource
  • Machine: Resource (or Employee if that table is in use)

The Incident Area ID is the table that can be linked to the Incident Area.

On the Incident Entry page, once an incident is created, the Incident Classification Code is filled automatically based on the source on which the incident is created. The reason is that this incident classification can then be used for an easy way of reporting on the sources of different incidents raised.

The RapidStart package that is delivered with the release contains a default setup of the Incident Classification Table.
