How to: Create a Process Production Order

You can plan process production orders based on the current on hand supply of raw materials. Process production orders are created from the Process Reporting window, which is used to report the results of production. This allows the user to create a process production order, then immediately report output and consumption against it, accommodating production environments where raw materials are processed without any initial planning or scheduling, and the sole purpose of a production order is to act as the mechanism through which production results are recorded.

Raw materials that are entered for a process production order must be lot tracked. Be sure to assign a lot number to the item when it is received in the inventory if you plan on using it in a process production order.
