How to: Copy an Asset

You can create a blank asset, then use the Copy Asset batch job to copy information from an existing asset. This is useful if you are setting up a number of assets that have similar information.

To copy an asset

1. In the Search box, enter Assets, and then choose the related link.
2. On the Home tab, in the New group, choose New.
3. In the No. field, enter a number for the asset.

Alternatively, if you have set up number series for assets in the Maintenance Setup window, you can press Enter and the program will enter the next available number.

4. On the Actions tab, in the General group, choose Copy Asset.
5. On the Options FastTab, fill in the fields.
6. Choose the OK button to start the batch job.

When the batch job is finished, the asset information specified in the request form is copied to the new asset card.
