Planning Controlled Tasks

The planning controlled field on the resource task indicates that the, resource, planning function in the source document was used when the task and assignment were created. Based on this setting these planned hours can be, automatically, inserted in the time-sheet. So, the settings Back-flush Hours and Planning Controlled work closely together. Back-flush hours will only work when the task is Planning Controlled. If you want your resources to always specify how much time they actually worked on a task you must leave Back-flush Hours off.

The following planning functions in source documents are considered:

Projects

Project Planning Lines of the type Resource must have planning entries. This is indicated by the Planning Status field, the planning status can be:

  • Open: The quantity on the ProjectPlanning Line is not distributed over ProjectPlanning Entries
  • Partially Planned: The quantity on the ProjectPlanning Line is partially distributed over ProjectPlanning Entries
  • Balanced: The quantity on the ProjectPlanning Line is fully distributed over ProjectPlanning Entries
