Resource allocation for Assembly Orders

IEM enables a, limited, capacity planning for resources. To work with this capacity planning the following setup is required:

1. Set the expected assembly time on the item card of an assembly item in the field: Assembly Time (Hours) as the time it takes 1 resource to assemble the item.
2. Make sure NOT to include resources in the Assembly BOM. In IEM Assembly Orders you can plan resources in 2 ways:
   • From the assembly order header use Actions > Functions > Resource Allocations to add lines, select resources and allocate them for a specific date and number of hours. When a Resource Task is created for the assembly order an assignment will be created for the allocated resource.
   • Use the Start / Stop action on the Resource Task without allocation, the resource that starts the task is automatically assigned to the Task.

Note: Only resources can be allocated, not resource groups.
