How to: Repack an Item

When creating a terminal market sales order, you can select an available item from the Terminal Market Item Availability window, then repack it as a separate item. This separate item is entered on a new sales order line. This allows you to make last minute changes to the packaging arrangement in which an item is sold.

For example, Item A represents a case of 10 units, while Item B represents a case of 5 units. If the customer wants 2 cases of Item B, but you only have cases of Item A available, you can repack an available case of Item A into 2 cases of Item B.

The program uses the value in the Units per Parcel field on the Item card to convert units of an available item into units of a repacked one. You can not repack items that do not have defined units per parcel information. In addition, the resulting quantity of units from a repack process must be a whole number; you can not repack 3 units into 2 units, for example.
