How to: Set Up Lot Status Codes

Lot status codes determine the allowed behavior for a specific lot. Assigning or changing a Lot Status code to a lot can be done manually through the Lot Information Record page. It is also possible to assign a lot status code automatically to all inbound lots. Finally, the Lot Status code can be assigned automatically by using the Quality Control module.

The Lot Status code determines wheter a lot is allowed or forbidden to be used on sales-, purchase-, production-, or transfer orders, as wel as production-Planning functionality and inventory-adjustments.

To set up a lot status code

1. In the Search box, enter Lot Status Codes, and then choose the related link.
2. On the Home tab, in the New group, choose New.
3. On the new line, fill in the fields.

Lot Status Summary

The Item Availability by Lot page is enhanced. Since lot status is all about availability of lots it seemed that this would be a natural place to provide a summary by lot status. The page as it was implemented displayed one row per lot with some additional data from the lot information (e.g., lot status and supplier lot number) and several quantities (e.g., on hand, scheduled receipts, and gross requirements). This has now been enhanced to include additional rows for each lot status showing totals of the quantities for each lot with that lot status. The rows are presented in a tree view with the top level being the lot status summary rows and the second level being the rows for each lot.
