Lookup

A lookup is a data grid activity that is linked to a parameter. The activity shows records from the same table as the table defined on the parameter.

After the lookup has finished successfully, the parameter is filled with the field value of that record related to the field defined on the parameter.

Linking an activity to a parameter is done on the “Parameter” card by entering the activity for the lookup data grid into the “Lookup Activity No.” field. Only activities that are data grids and have the same source table as the parameter can be used as activity.

If a button of type Lookup is activated on an activity, it will call the activity that is entered in the “Lookup Activity no.”-field on the parameter that is linked on the current active control. After a record is selected in the lookup activity, the application returns to the previous activity and fills the parameter with the selected record.
