About: FTPREADER Endpoint

In Business Integration Solutions, the FTPREADER endpoint is used to read files from an FTP location.

Usage

Use this endpoint when you want to import documents (XML, CSV or Text) stored in an FTP location, into Microsoft Dynamics BC.

Concept

When documents are stored in an FTP location, use the FTP Reader endpoint to read the files, which are processed through various activities in the pipeline and passed into Microsoft Dynamics BC. To be able to read the documents, you must provide the FTP server address and user credentials. Also, there is an option to process the endpoint as a batch using the Job Queue, where a Job Queue entry will be created for the reading endpoint.

Once the files are read, the files are deleted from the FTP location.

If you want to view queue documents from different Microsoft Dynamics BC clients or locations, an FTP server must be used with the appropriate permissions for the users who are using that client.
