About: Lifecycle Event

In Business Integration Solutions, the Lifecycle Event triggers a pipeline based on a change in the defined lifecycle state transitions.

Usage

Use this event to export Microsoft Dynamics BC data in a controlled manner, based on lifecycle state transitions.

Concept

Lifecycle Studio is a part of Solution Center where you can set up:

• Lifecycle types
• Lifecycles
• Lifecycle states

In the Lifecycle Event settings, you can specify on which lifecycle state change the event should trigger. For example, you define a lifecycle for items with four status codes. Once the status code changes to state code number four, the item information exports immediately.

A Lifecycle Event carries a record set and you can batch-process it.

To use the Lifecycle Event, you must first define the lifecycle and lifecycle states. Note that the Lifecycle Event does not detect changes to the Status field of a certain record, for example, a sales order. Use the Record Change Event for that purpose.
