How to: Convert Items to Lot Control

You can convert a non-lot controlled item to lot control by assigning a single lot number to that item's existing ledger entries. Once this initial lot number has been assigned, future ledger entries can be given specific lot numbers.

There is a database key group that must be enabled before items can be converted to lot control. This task must be performed in the development environment.

To convert items to lot control

1. In the Search box, enter Convert to Lot Controlled, and then choose the related link.
2. In the No. field, on the first line, select a non-lot controlled item number.
3. Fill in the other fields on the line.
4. Repeat this procedure for each item you want to convert to lot control.
5. On the Actions tab, in the General group, choose Convert to convert the entered items.
